I Am on Korean Diet!
There are two big reasons that make me decide to live a healthier life - going on Korean diet. First one is, I bet, a real common one. Yes, my pants have got shrunk, without my permission or without anyone’s permission! They were not one of those baggy or relaxed fit types. But at least they were not too tight to wear and sit in them for eight hours at work. These days, quite often, I find myself pulling my pants to stretch them, or simply to breath. =(
Considering the fact that I’m in my middle thirties, my metabolism starts to get terrible, maybe one might say ‘why don’t you just accept that?’ Oh, that’s my other self, the lazier one, who often gets swollen with food and does binge drinking.
Well, I decide I’ll say NO to that. I didn’t want to invest a whole amount money to replace my wardrobe (as if I have one). I’m not even very fashionable and don’t have many expensive clothes at all, but it would still cost some amount of money to replace them.
Anyway, money is a big issue, especially these days when everything rises up crazily. But on top of money, I hate looking at myself in the mirror, not having any kind of waist line whatsoever. That’s a kind of the last curve that I could be proud of a little. =(
Another big reason is that I am finding myself having a real hard time in running on the treadmill for 10 minutes at 10 min per mile pace. I was a regular runner for four or five years and ran marathon twice, crying out loud! I realized I am seriously lacking some kinds of key nutrients. I need to eat better and healthier. Yes, that’s why I’m on healthy Korean diet.
I think I could add a couple of reasons to my decision. I’ve been missing Korean food terribly, especially ones that my mom made. As long as the visa barriers remain, it’s not easy to invite my mom here in the US and ask her to cook for me even as short as a week. I just have to deal with my cravings.
So I’ll probably try to cook more Korean food, healthier Korean food. I’m not a good cook at all. And I don’t have much time to cook, with my full time job and side jobs. But I should try to cook more and treat myself better.
So, the last grand cause is, of course, swimming suit! =)
